德克萨斯南方大学(TSU)的心理学系有两个学位 心理学课程，一个本科学位 Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), 还有一个研究生学位 Master of Arts (M.A.). 本系还为在托大其他专业攻读本科学位的学生开设了心理学辅修课程.

Mission
心理学系的使命是在完成文科教育后，为在社会中承担生产作用的个人的发展做出贡献. 为了完成它的使命，心理学系授予:
1. knowledge, skills, and values related to the science and application of psychology; and
2. knowledge, skills, 以及与文科教育相一致的价值观，这些价值观被心理学学科进一步强化. 成功完成心理学课程计划后，学生将:
a. 表现出对主要概念的熟悉程度, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, 心理学的历史趋势;
b. 运用心理学的基本研究方法, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation;
c. 运用批判性和创造性思维, skeptical inquiry, and, when possible, 解决与行为和心理过程有关的问题的科学方法;
d. apply psychological principles to personal, social, and organizational issues; and
e. be able to weigh evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, 也反映了心理学作为一门学科的基础的其他价值观
